About the Teacher:
Renee first discovered yoga 10 years ago in a library book. She began photo copying pages of asanas to take home to practice. After a while her desire to learn more about yoga grew and she decided to find a local studio. Renee was amazed at how she felt after her first class led by an instructor. She realized there was a lot more to yoga than just the position her body was in. Enjoying the sense of calm that this practice gave her, it didn’t take long before she started attending several classes a week. Yoga became more than a physical practice for her; evolving into a spiritual practice of balance and peace of mind. She committed to being a lifelong student of yoga. As she grew in her practice it became clear she had a passion to share the joy she found in yoga with others. Renee is so grateful she was able to complete her 200 hour yoga teacher training with YogaWorks and is thankful everyday for the opportunity to teach and be taught the many gifts of yoga. Guided by the belief that yoga can be for everyone, Renee’s goal is to help facilitate a moving meditation throughout each asana practice. Yogis of all levels can enjoy Renee’s classes centered on breath and alignment. She hopes to hold a space free from self judgment or expectation. Come as you are and together we’ll move forward from there!

Title: Arm Balance, Inversion, & Flow Workshop

Teacher: Dawn Moore, RN, MSN, CCM, 200 RYT, 300 in progress

When: Saturday, June 24th, 2017 from 12-2:30PM

Location: The Yoga Mat in Orange

Price: $35 before June 10th, $40 after

Description: This 2 1/2 workshop that I will be offering at The Yoga Mat will start with a juicy flow and then will focus on breaking down various arm balances and inversions. Then there will be time to practice, ask questions and then an opportunity to flow incorporating what we just practiced within a Vinyasa flow class. No matter if it’s your first flight upside down or your 100th time I can guarantee you’ll leave sweaty and with a huge smile knowing you may have tried something new. Workshops are my favorites because the space that I will create will be safe, fun and inviting allowing you to be you and practice from where you are today. From there I hope to inspire you to grow from that place. For a sneak peek into my practice you can visit my website, find me on Instagram (@monkeymix) or Facebook Dawn Sora Moore, Yoga with Monkey.

About the Teacher:
Prior to yoga, I maintained an active lifestyle enjoying surfing, running, cycling and participating in various races. In 2009-2010, I took my first Vinyasa yoga class with a friend who encouraged me to try yoga to improve my flexibility and balance. That first class gradually evolved into a daily home practice I have kept for the past 7 years. Since that time yoga has become part of my daily life which has kept my mind, body and soul in balance. I believe that anyone can do yoga. Yoga starts by taking that first full deep breath, feeling it in your body and then moving in a way that feels good for you.

Over the past 7 years I have expanded my knowledge and practice by attending various yoga workshops with influential yogas such as Liz Arch, Amy Ippoliti, Ella Cojocaru, Elinore Cohen and Kino MacGregor. In 2013, I completed my 200 hour yoga teaching training with Liz Arch to deepen my own practice focusing on key alignment and meaningful sequenced Vinyasa flows. I also completed my Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga certification with Paddleboard Bliss in Southern California. My yoga jams are Vinyasa and Yin forms of yoga which I teach both on land and sea. I currently teach Vinyasa Yoga Levels 1-2 and Levels 2-3 at The Springs LA in downtown LA, Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga classes in Newport Beach/Laguna Beach with Paddleboard Bliss and also recently led various classes and workshops sponsored by a non-profit organization called Go Light Our World (GLOW) in The Philippines where funds were donated to families in rural areas providing solar lighting for their homes. It was an honor to be asked to teach in that space and giveback to such a beautiful community.

My intention no matter how and where I teach yoga is to bring an authentic and playful spirit that will Inspire, Motivate and Guide you. My classes, workshops and yoga retreats will invite you to connect your breath to your movement and no one else. All classes and workshops will are crafted for all levels offering modifications within the asana or transition when needed however will also offer opportunities for those yogis who incorporate arm balances and inversions within their own practice to play with those too.

Come explore your shoulders from every possible angle through deep tissue massage, anatomy, therapeutic movement, and yoga. You’ll leave class with arms that swing effortlessly so you can “keep cruisin’ and groovin’” to the beat of your own drum!

Many yoga poses require the hips to be flexible and strong. Even daily activities like walking up stairs, doing yard work, getting in and out of the car, or down to and up from the floor while playing with the kids necessitates healthy and happy hips as well as knees and feet. In this workshop, you’ll be guided through playful and challenging techniques involving deep tissue massage, anatomical exploration, therapeutic movement, and corrective exercises creating suppleness in your legs from the tips of your toes to the joints of your hips. Your hips will experience a greater range of motion and be happier than ever!

As her practice logged the hours the subtleties of yoga began to weave their way into Molly's life. She noticed she was less quick to stress out and could move through her day not only more peaceful but more logically. After continuing to run and practice for a few years a teacher of hers suggest she enroll in a 200-hour certification program to, if nothing else, deepen her own practice. The program did that and much more for Molly and she now takes what she has learned and continued to learn as she brings this beautiful practice to others. She teaches anywhere from a gentle restorative class to an invigorating flow incorporating her own tidbits here and there.
